Two versions of a cover art for my game Beast Dominion. Go to my game development section in Programming for a short description of what the game is. For this cover art, I was heavily inspired by Final Fantasy VII's cover art. The first version is the original art unedited after being made in Unity. The second version is a version made on Photoshop, using the art filter angled strokes. The main purpose of this cover is to establish what the player will be doing, playing as a tiger prince that can transform, fighting monsters, and challenging a kingdom.

For the cover and especially for the unedited versionI turned off functionality to receive shadows for characters on the cover, because I want to give a cel-shaded look and to emphasize the colors, mainly of the main character. I wanted to emphasize the main character's white, especially to make the main character stand out in the colors of the cover.

For the filter version, I used angled strokes to give a feeling of fierceness and impact by focusing on white and blur. White can represent holiness, which can add a sense of importance, but it can also give a feeling of coldness, which is an aspect of warfare. White can also give an impression of smoke, which can also be associated with warfare. In Eastern cultures, white represents death. This helps me out, because I want to emphasize a feeling of war. The other major reasons for using angled strokes was to evoke Japanese art and to give a sense of surrealism by making the art blurred and dreamlike.

Both versions give a feeling of surrealism, because I purposely did not use a magic effect on the main character to make it ambiguous whether the main character is transforming from a tiger to a bird or if that is another character.
